SoI update —June 8, 2016

Yo F.R.I.E.N.D.S, just pulled 2x Nahiri and really wanted to splice in the Emrakul combo. Here's an opening example with this fresh combo: T1 Birds, T2 Bairn, T3 Cryptolith (oath and/or another birds if you wanna), T4 Nahiri - Ult on the spot and drop Emrakul gg?

Let me know what you think!

I suggest more oath of nissa (4)

hey thanks, corndog. what do you think i should swap it for? My biggest hesitation is that redundancy doesn't really help, but i do like to dig for things. I'm just having such a hard time wanting to swap anything out because everything else is either a combo piece or mana support. I also don't have any interactions with enchantments. I havent found myself to be too reliant on it either.

Have you thought about adding another Gilder Bairn? There is never a bad time to draw them and if an opponent removes or destroys one you will really need another one as soon as possible. Also have you thought about adding something to protect Gilder Bairn? Even an enchantment to give it hexproof that would be really useful since, while you can get by without it, it is a really useful card.

Good to see you again, Jack-Frost! This is actually the first time I am going to play with only 3--I wanted to make room for a 3rd Courser of Kruphix because it has been working wonders against aggro.

I must admit that I am uncomfortable running only 3 Gilder Bairn, because it is honestly my favorite part of the deck and it is really what makes my walkers valuable, but I also really hate having more than one in my opening hand. I think I can get away with 3 now for other reasons, specifically with Oath of Nissa letting me pull out creatures and filter my deck a little.

Since my creature count is so much higher now, I have actually been utilizing Xenagos, the Reveler's ultimate ability (which was useless with such a low creature count in my earlier iterations.) I am finding that it's pretty advantageous to be able to drop a couple lands and a handful of creatures off of that--even if they are only mana dorks--and if I happen to hit a primetime, it's totally worth it.

Everyone hates on my Coiling Oracle, but I have been loving it, especially with Courser of Kruphix. If I choose to bump the Gilder Bairn back up to 4, that is probably what will get the chop.
