I got into MTG in 2012, right around Return to Ravnica. I cut my teeth in standard with Hellrider RDW and Nivix Cyclops Izzet blitz. But before that, before I knew of Standard and Modern and other competitive formats, there was the kitchen table. My first ever deck (sleeved in Ultrapros) revolved around Grimgrin, Corpse-Born and Deceiver Exarch. That beautiful little untap interaction awakened an inner Johnny. I've never been amazing at playing the game itself, but boy howdy, I sure do love deckbuilding.

These days, I mostly play commander, as the competitive formats are just too dang expensive, and I am now entering Old Fogey territory.
