Zur, Eternal Schemer - Rules interactions
Asked by TehGrief 2 years ago
When using Zur, Eternal Schemer's ability on an enchantment creature (Such as Archetype of Imagination, with base power 3/2), does the creatures innate power/toughness become changed to its converted mana cost (using the example above, 6/6)?
Furthermore, if Zur's ability was used on one of the Theros gods, who have their own static rule regarding when and if they are a creature, would Athreos, God of Passage (for example) become a 3/3 permanently, or would it become a 3/3 only for as long as you meet the devotion condition?

While searching for an answer, I actually found one... 9 years ago from Rhadamanthus
"...[Since Zur's effect] is newer, its type-changing ability has a newer timestamp than the God's natural devotion ability and will always be applied after it. Whether devotion is "on" or "off", the God will be a creature with P/T equal to its CMC..."

Yes, that works. The base P/T setting part of Zur's effect will override the creature's printed base P/T.
