Will deathtouch work with 'deal damage' abilites?

Let's say I use card:Serpent's Gift on an Arms Dealer , then use it's ability to deal four damage to something that's, say, a 5/5. Will it die?
Deathtouch doesn't require only ombat damage to be dealt. As it says in the reminder text for the mechanic, "Any amount of damage it deals to a creature is enough to destroy it."

Also note here that trample and deathtouch are best friends. One point damage is considered lethal from a deathtouch creature so that remaining damage from that is then assigned to the player (or more creatures if there is more than 1 creature blocking it). In other words Deathtouch is awesome which makes Nightshade Peddler awesome as well.

Prey upon and death touch also works, Also if your creature has death touch and trample you can when assigning damage to there blockers, you can just assign one point of lethal the death touch kills it and all the rest tramples over. (For example you attack with a 6/6 death touch and trample creature. They block with a 4/4, without death touch they would loose the creature and take 2 trample. With Death Touch 1 death touch is applied and then 5 trample over.) This makes for some nasty tricks.

Prey Upon would work with deathtouch, as it's "deals damage equal to it's power to the other creature", any non-zero amount of damage is lethal

Yes it will. The source of the damage is the creature with deathtouch, so the ability kills. Really funny on creatures that tap to do 1 damage to something. Put a Basilisk Collar on them and giggle.
