Rules question, Ensnaring bridge+Assault formation

Asked by scipionumantia 9 years ago

Title essentially says it all. If you running a wall deck (or 0 power cards) with assault formation, and have zero cards in hand can you still swing for damage with say Gatecreeper Vine? The way I'm reading it the answer is "yes" but I'm not sure

Rules question should be posted in the Rules Q&A, which is linked at the top.

Link all cards in your question.
Assault Formation
Ensnaring Bridge

Yes. Gatecreeper Vine's power is 0. You could attack with it no matter how many cards you have in hand.

Worth noting, Ensnaring Bridge only checks a creature's power when attacks are declared. Once a creature passes that check, triggered abilities like Exalted, or activated abilities or instants (Giant Growth) can all increase a creature's power beyond Bridge's limit, and the creature will still be attacking.
