protection from everything vs protection from multicolor

Asked by tlk_lone_knight 11 years ago

I have Progenitus on the field and my oposition has any creature enchanted to protect from multicolor, Progenitus is still unblockable correct?

Yes. Since he has protection from everything, he literally has protection from everything. He can't be blocked by everything, can't be dealt damaged by everything, can't be targeted by everything, etc.

@AJtheConquerer It's not literally protection from everything. Progenitus isn't indestructible, and so he can be killed with wrath spells, such as Wrath of God and Merciless Eviction

Just to provide some additional context, since it seems like the OP may be a confused as to how protection works. A permanent with "Protection from X" cannot be enchanted, blocked, damaged, or targeted ("EEDoT") by any X. So Progenitus clearly cannot be EBDoT by Soldier of the Pantheon ; similarly, Soldier of the Pantheon cannot be EBDoT by Progenitus . Same with White Knight and Black Knight , etc.

@smithereen, While your acronym, EBDoT, works just fine, it is alot easier to remember DEBT. Same meaning, different order to make it a word.
