Mogis's Marauder and his devotion

Asked by Galed 9 years ago

Recently I came back to Magic and looked for improvements for my "Resurrection Vampire" deck and found Mogis's Marauder. Since idea of my deck is to have all my 3 mana Vampires (have ONLY 3 mana vampires in deck - Vampire Nighthawk, Stromkirk Captain, Captivating Vampire etc.) to resurrect via Immortal Servitude later in the game and trample enemy with sheer force, I wonder if Mogis's Marauder's devotion effect would do what I think... Giving Intimidate and Haste to all my Vampires coming to battlefield with Mogis's Marauder... I think it should work but I'm not sure about it... If yes only thing i find bad is he's not Vampire too :)

If Mogis's Marauder and other creatures enter the battlefield simultaneously, as with Immortal Servitude, the Marauder's devotion counts those creatures and its ability can target them, so yes, you could use it to give all the vampires intimidate and haste.

Just to be clear, there's not even really a question of things entering simultaneously and still seeing each other at all here. Mogis's Marauder's ability won't trigger until it's on the battlefield, so that means everything else is on the battlefield with it as no one receives priority to add abilities to the stack while a spell is resolving - like Immortal Servitude.

Mogis's Marauder's ability triggers when it enters the battlefield, but the trigger waits to be put onto the stack until after Immortal Servitude is completely finished resolving. This means all the creatures returned by Servitude are on the battlefield when Marauder's ability resolves (unless someone responded by killing some of them), and they can all be affected by it.
