Ludevic + Fevered Visions: Can my opponents use Visions to trigger the Ludevic draw?
Asked by TriusMalarky 3 years ago
So, if I have Fevered Visions in play, and Ludevic, Necro-Alchemist, can the triggers be placed on the stack so that Visions triggers, drawing the player a card and dealing 2 to them, and then Ludevic's triggers, drawing them a card because they took damage and they're not me?
Omniscience_is_life, am I missing something obvious here? What you said would make sense if Ludevic's ability had an intervening 'if' clause, but it doesn't. Ludevic also doesn't have a clause of "if [that player] lost life before the beginning of their end step", so it'll account for any damage during the turn before its ability resolves.
Both triggers trigger at the beginning of your opponent's end step, and you control both triggers, so you can stack them as you like. You can have Visions resolve first and deal damage, then have Ludevic's ability check for any damage throughout the turn and have them draw a card off that.

For clarification. There is no intervening if in Ludevic, Necro-Alchemist, it will trigger every turn, checking for life loss only on resolution. From the gatherer:
(2020-11-10) Ludevic’s triggered ability triggers at the beginning of each player’s end step, including yours, even if no player has lost life that turn. Whether or not a player has lost life is checked only as the triggered ability resolves.
As their controller, you determine which order they will resolve, so you can have Fevered Visions resolve before Ludevic's or after. If Fevered Visions is the only damage or life lost by any player other than you (and resolves first), that player may draw a card.

Yesterday oops! Thought the "'if' a player other than you..." made it a reliant ability. My mistake. This is the last time I answer without checking the relevant rules text '-_-

So I could use it to let somebody draw an extra card or deny them their card? I don't know how good that actually is but it's funny

Because each ability triggers at the beginning of your end step, and Ludevic's ability is reliant on the other, it will not trigger. This is due to the fact that once Visions resolves, you are no longer at the beginning of your end step.
