How does it work if one player has two copies of Arcane Bombardment at one time?

Asked by Sora825 1 year ago

Say I have two Arcane Bombardment on the field. In the graveyard I have one Lightning Bolt, and one Naturalize.

I cast my first spell of the turn, lets say Shock.

The first Arcane Bombardment says to exile an instant/sorcery from the graveyard & gets Lightning Bolt, then casts it.

The second Arcane Bombardment says to exile an instant/sorcery from the graveyard & gets Naturalize.

I know that the second Arcane Bombardment is allowed to cast its Naturalize, but is it also able to cast the Lightning Bolt?

The part I'm not sure of is when Arcane Bombardment says "Then copy each card exiled with Arcane Bombardment"

Should I be reading that as: "Then copy each card exiled with A CARD NAMED Arcane Bombardment"

Or should I be reading it as: Then copy each card exiled with THIS CARD NAMED Arcane Bombardment"

"This card". You won't get to cast Lightning Bolt twice.

Whenever a permanent refers to itself by name, it's just talking about itself as a unique permanent. The ability doesn't take into account other permanents with the same name, but does continue to work if its name as a permanent changes.

Thank you, that's what I would have assumed just to be on the safe side.

Can't let this card be more broken than it is.
