Doubling Season + Hydras?

If I play a Vastwood Hydra with a Doubling Season under my control, will it come in with double those counters? It just comes in with it, are they placed and trigger the Season? How does this work?

Yeah your Hydras would double, but you're missing the fun part: Planeswalkers. Planeswalkers enter with loyalty counters, but with Doubling Season they will enter with double the loyalty counters. And whenever they use an ability that puts a loyalty counter on them you put double on it instead, its crazy!. If you would play Koth of the Hammer you could ult him as soon as he gets in. And there are many more, the combo with Ajani, Caller of the Pride is crazy ! I feel I'm a little off topic though, Hydra, yeah they're great too. The combo with Kalonian Hydra is pretty good as it will enter as a 8/8, and then the doubling gets pretty crazy. Assemble the Legion also combos great, put 2 counters on it a turn and put double than many tokens onto the field, I could talk all day about how fun this card is but I think you get the point. Forgot to mention with Kalonian Hydra you will put 3 times the counters on creatures because of Doubling Season . Hydra enters as 8/8. You attack, put 8 counters on Kalonian Hydra , Doubling Season triggers so you put another 8 counters on Kalonian Hydra making it a 24/24. Yet again i feel this is off topic but necessary because it's epic !

This isn't true. Doubling season states that "if an effect would put one or more counters on a permanent, double it."
Adding the Loyalty counter is the COST of the ability, not the effect

From the Gatherer page for Doubling Season :
"Doubling Season affects cards that "enter the battlefield with" a certain number of counters. Triskelion, for example, would enter the battlefield with six +1/+1 counters on it rather than three."
So your hydras would get double counters upon entry.
