Does Scourge of the Throne Do Damage

Asked by Donvier 2 years ago

When Scourge of the Throne attacks (for the first time each turn) the player with the highest life or tied with, untap all attacking creatures. After this phase there is an additional combat phase.

Does Scourge of the Throne and other attacking creatures do damage before they are untapped? The way it is phrased "untap all ATTACKING creatures" makes me think they untap before they finish attacking.

I might be misunderstanding some basic rules about combat here please be patient.

Each of your creatures including the Scourge do untap while attacking and before dealing damage, but they are still attacking and will still deal damage.

There aren't any effects that remove them from combat (like Gustcloak Harrier), or any effects that prevent combat damage (like Fog).

There aren't any intrinsic rules that mean untapping your creature means it is no longer attacking. Vigilance exists.
