does goreclaw and Stonebrow work together

Asked by heinrichdk 5 years ago

im playtesting with a modern deck that uses Arbor Elf + Utopia Sprawl to play a Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma followed by hasty 4-5 drops like Shaman of the Great Hunt + Surrak, the Hunt Caller + Xenagos, the Reveler . Now Goreclaw states when ever a creature with power >= 4 attack it gets +1/+1 and trample and Stonebrow, Krosan Hero states thet when a creature with trample attacks it gets +2/+2. if i attack with a creature without trample will it get +1/+1 or +3/+3

It gets +1/+1.

In magic,"when a creature attacks" really means when it is declared as an attacker. So stonebrow only buffs creatures who had trample when they were declared as attackers.

508.2a Abilities that trigger on a creature attacking trigger only at the point the creature is declared as an attacker. They will not trigger if a creature attacks and then that creature’s characteristics change to match the ability’s trigger condition.

It's also important to note that Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma's ability only triggers when Goreclaw attacks, not when a creature with power greater than 4 attacks, and that the ability gives +1/+1 and trample to all your powerful creatures, not just the attacking one(s).
