Does Enchanted Evening + active Starfield of Nyx kill your lands?

Asked by SmugLookingBarrel 8 years ago

Enchanted Evening makes everything into an enchantment, and Starfield of Nyx (with 5 or more enchantments in play]] turns every enchantment into a creature. If I have them both in play, what happens to my lands? Are they unaffected since they have no converted mana cost, or do they turn into 0/0 creatures and die?

Also, would creatures on the battlefield have their power and toughness changed to equal their converted mana costs, or would they keep their original power and toughness?

You are correct that your Lands would die. Enchanted Evening turns them into Enchantments and then once Starfield of Nyx shows up; they turn into creatures that are 0/0's and they'll die.

As for the Creatures keeping their base P/T; I believe that the P/T will change to whatever the creatures CMC is if Enchanted Evening is put onto the battlefield AFTERWARDS.

Your Lands will indeed die due to being 0/0's because their CMC = 0

The Creatures entering will enter as Enchantment Creatures like, for example, Courser of Kruphix this doesn't use time stamps so the creature will always have P/T = CMC. So Courser of Kruphix is a 3/3 because of Starfield of Nyx. If it's a Goblin Guide; he will become a 1/1 instead of a 2/2. If the creature was Thassa, God of the Sea; then it would use time stamps to determine whether she would be a 3/3 or a 5/5 from devotion. So the finite answer is that the creatures base P/T will change to equal their CMC.
