Do I get 2 untaps with Seedborn Muse and Unwinding Clock out?

Asked by JaredMatthewsArtwork 11 years ago

I've done it a lot in my Glissa, the Traitor Artifact EDH, untapping Planar Portal two times per opponent's turn, searching for 4 things ( with Rings of Brighthearth ) and casting those things in between the triggers of Seedborn Muse and Unwinding Clock thanks to Shimmer Myr (I know. The whole thing is disgusting), and I just want to make sure that's how it works. They trigger separately and I can do things in between them if they're instant speed, right?

Neither Seedborn Muse nor Unwinding Clock have a triggered ability (triggered abilities always start with "when / whenever / at"). They simply have a kind of static ability that changes the rules of the game as long as it's in effect. You only untap your stuff one time during other players' untap steps, regardless of how many of these you have on the battlefield.

It's worth keeping them both in the deck though, for the sake of redundancy.

Ok, I was afraid of that. I always get confused around the difference between triggered and static. Thanks

Triggered abilities only ever begin with the word at, when, or whenever. If the ability just states something about the game, then it is a static ability.
