Confusing synergy between Sylvan Library and Archmage Ascension

I think I found an interesting and confusing synergy.. Since I want to play with these cards in a commander deck, I want to clear up some things i'm confused about.
So since Sylvan Library has you draw cards.. What happens when Archmage Ascension is online? You're technically not drawing cards with archmage online, so can you just fetch 2 cards from sylvan without the "downside"?
If Archmage Ascension is online, it creates a replacement effect anytime you would draw. So each turn, instead of drawing three cards, you can search for three cards, and since you didn't technically draw any cards with Sylvan Library, you don't have to put 2 back or pay life to keep the cards.

Ya that's what I thought, thanks.. Just wanted to make sure. 100% of the time somebody is going argue that playing in real life though haha.

Lol, thats like in legacy, you can have Chains of Mephistopheles in play, essentially preventing draws. And you can also have Dark Confidant in play, essentially letting you "draw". its especially fun against miracles opponents.

Yes. As long as you don't actually draw any cards there are no draws. You either get one Tutor or three, not two tutors and a draw. If you draw any cards (not sure why you would in this case, but with Dredge for example...) you start having to replace cards or pay life.
