As long as your playgroup allows it, why not?
That being said, I'm fairly certain you aren't allowed to do this in competitive tournaments. You present your commanders first, then you get to sideboard. As stated on the RC's website:
*Players may bring a 10 card sideboard in addition to their 99 cards and 1 Commander.
*After Commanders are announced, players have 3 minutes to make 1-for-1 substitutions to their deck.

hmmmm this is a good question actually, as if people can sideboard out their commander, they can influence opponents to sideboard the opposite way. Like presenting Phelddagrif then switching to Derevi, Empyrial Tactician would be sooooo broken.

Right lol I had asked cause my main board is strictly filling graveyard but my side board will exile if I determine that's what I need to do

My old group would do this between games. It's good fun and really shakes up long nights.
The interesting bit comes when you build your deck to reflect two Commanders instead of one. It's a real twist when a mediocre card that's decent for both your generals is better than a niche card that's only even good with one of them. Takes your deckbuilding to a whole new level.

I hate to digress the conversation, but I just need to say that building a deck to become more generic is not an advance in deckbuilding in my opinion. "Taking to a whole new level"? Absolutely, but not any level I would recommend anyone going to, unless they are trying to build a deck with less power.
sorry for the rant, here's an Elixir of Immortality:

Sure, it's not great. But it did lead to better gameplay, which is what we needed. We played so often, games were getting stale and predictable.
We also experimented with an EDH format variant which we're not ready to reveal, but it dealt with a similar concept.

I can see that. I play more on Magic Online nowadays, so predictability is not one of my big worries... lol

After Commanders are announced, players have 3 minutes to make 1-for-1 substitutions to their deck.
In other words, once Commanders are presented, they can't be changed... they are already presented. So no, you may not swap out your commander, if you've already declared it as you commander this game.
Having a few potential commanders is encouraged on the other hand. Look at the C13 and C14 decks... All of them came with a commander and 2 alternate ones. You just have to decide who the commander will be before sideboarding, if your group allows sideboarding.

Go for it. There's no rule saying you can't. You just present your Commander and that's it. I guess it depends on your group.
