Clever Impersonator + Progenitor Mimic

So let's say I have Clever Impersonator and I cast it take Doubling Season because planes walkers with 2x counters = wat now, but if I Progenitor Mimic the impersonator, does he just become the 0/0 guy or does he get his effect through?

It's worth noting that if you copy something that is a copy of another object, you end up with whatever the first copy currently is plus any copy effects that apply to it. So if you copied Memnite with Phantasmal Image, then copied Phantasmal Image with Clever Impersonator, your Clever Impersonator would be a 2/2 Artifact Sreature -- Construct Illusion with the phantasmal sac ability.

I know this question is from a few days ago, but Epochalyptik how did it get to be a 2/2 artifact creature? I thought it'd be a 1/1 like Memnite.

You wouldn't be able to use Progenitor Mimic the Clever Impersonator because the Impersonator is no longer a creature when it copies Doubling Season.
