So long as the legendary creature isn't banned as a commander, you may use it.

If you pick Kozilek, Butcher of TruthMTG Card: Kozilek, Butcher of Truth or Ulamog, the Infinite GyreMTG Card: Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre, you may not include any lands with colored mana symbols on them (this means no basic lands either).

Note that Bosh, Iron GolemMTG Card: Bosh, Iron Golem has a red mana symbol in its text box. This means its color identity is red, and you may use red-identity lands in the deck.

MemnarchMTG Card: Memnarch is in the same boat as Bosh, Iron GolemMTG Card: Bosh, Iron Golem. Its color identity would be blue.

If you have a colorless commandder, do NOT use Command TowerMTG Card: Command Tower! It's legal to put in the deck but it will do nothing. :)
