I believe there have been many threads regarding Vexing Devil and instant speed effects; I should know, I was told the same thing when I made such a query months ago. Check the Q&A archives on the site and you'll find that it's most likely a "no". For example, Undying Evil certainly doesn't work at least.

Once a spell or ability starts resolving, no one gets a chance to play any more spells or abilities until it's completely finished. Your opponent making a choice and you sacrificing Vexing Devil all happen during the resolution of Devil's triggered ability, and it can't be interrupted.

Draugo is exactly right. The sacrifice and the damage are both part of the same ability. There is no opportunity to do anything in between the two.

Then i will probably put in 3 goblin arsonist, My idea was, Vexing devil + Infernal plunge + brimstone volley for 9 turn two, but i will do the same thing with goblin arsonist for 6 instead.

HAHAHA Derp13312442's a BITCH. I told you that wasn't cool to do. Just like elixir and voltaic key.

Don't be a jackass.
Which Elixir? The answer about whether or not "elixir and voltaic key'' works depends on which one you're talking about.

I had a jund deck while ago, and I tried to tap 2, gain 5 life from Elixir of Immortality, then tap 1 for voltaic key, untap Elixir and use it again to gain 5 more life and then let it get shuffled in with my graveyard back into my library. I was told it couldn't be done, because I couldn't interrupt elixir's ability before it resolves after Ive already paid the 2 mana to use it. It seemed like a very similar combo, and I was told it could not be done, thus why I doubted this combo with vexing devil.

The combo of Elixir of Vitality and Voltaic Key works just fine. After the cost of activating Elixir is paid, everyone gets a chance to respond before the ability actually resolves. If the controller of the Elixir wants to respond by using a Key to untap it and activate it again, there's nothing stopping him.
The difference between that and the Vexing Devil example is that for the Elixir situation the payment of costs is completely separate from the resolution of a spell or ability, but everything about Devil's ability happens as it's in the process of resolving.

Really..? A lot of people told me I couldn't do that. That would be sweet if I could, then maybe I would revive that combo.

im not a rules expert, but u cant untap the elixir since tapping and sacrificing it are a cost of the ability, and u cant sac something two times. Imagine for example if u could sac multiple times a Judge's Familiar in response of an spell being played and stacking multiple instances of his ability

That's my fault, I typed Elixir of Vitality when I meant to say Elixir of Immortality . Thanks for pointing that out. You're right to say that the combo couldn't work with Elixir of Vitality, since for that one sacrificing it is part of the cost to activate the ability.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it seems to me that you can't. You can sacrifice it in response to the damage trigger but this would happen before the decision and so the opponent doesn't need to take the damage, but taking the damage and sacrificing Vexing Devil is part of the resolution of that trigger and so there's no time between taking the damage and sacrificing the Devil.
