Ammit Eternal's -1/-1 Trigger

Asked by Rilikb 7 years ago

Ok so I have a deck that revolves all around -1/-1 counters.I play with x3 of Ammit Eternal 2x of Nest of Scarabs 2x of Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons 4x of Archfiend of Ifnir 4x of Obelisk Spider. Now normally my main combo is Nest, Hapatra, and at least 2 Spiders on the field before my Archfiend hits the field. By that time I should have a cycle land or at least some form of cycle card due to all of my situational cards being cycle but also taking care of threats that might not be on the board at the time. So I would cycle and get -1/-1 counters for how many ever creatures my opponent has on the field and cause triggers.

Got side tracked, anyway my main question is this. Will an opponent playing a Spell with Ammit Eternal on the field count as myself putting a -1/-1 counter on the Ammit or would it be counted as my opponent placing it due to them casting the spell and nothing triggers.

I believe that it would cause my other triggers to activate due to the wording, whenever an opponent casts a spell, put a -1/-1 counter on Ammit Eternal.

Yes. You control the triggered ability and are the one directed to put the counters on.

Alright awesome that means my hamster, nest, and obelisk all will trigger when opponent plays a spell if ammit eternal is on field. That just made my day thanks.
