Just wondering if you copy a creature that has been monstersized...does Artisan of Forms take on the monstrous capabilities? Can you change which creature to copy? (Say if one turn I copy Shipbreaker Kraken can I change my mind and copy Fiendslayer Paladin the next turn and so on?)) too bad the effect isn't cumulative! can you imagine...this card is now a combination of Hundred-Handed One , Colossus of Akros and Master of Waves ! hehe.

In order for the Heroic ability to be trigger it must be by a spell that says "target creature". When Artisan of Forms is targeted by a spell you may have Artisan become a copy of any creature and gain its Heroic ability. Though if you want it to become another creature you must target Artisan with another "target creature' spell. It can only be one creature at a time.

Now I don't know though about copying things like monstrosity.

Yes it copies Monstrosity and all other abilities, color, cmc, creature types, P/T, and adds its Heroic ability to the copy. Just like Pack Rat copies.

Once Artisan of Forms copies something, it takes on all aspects of that card, including the Monstrosity ability. That is, it gains the activated ability to make itself monstrous.

Once it becomes Monstrous, turning it into something else won't make it forget that its monstrous. It won't however, keep any abilities pertaining to be Monstrous if it turns into an unrelated creature.

For example, you control an Artisan of Forms and you trigger its Heroic ability, copying Shipbreaker Kraken . You then pay to make [Artisan Kraken] Monstrous. When the trigger resolves, you have a Monstrous [Artisan Kraken] and they have four tapped creatures.

Your opponent then plays Stormbreath Dragon , which you decide would be good to copy, so you trigger [Artisan Kraken's] Heroic ability via some spell. [Artisan Kraken] is now [Artisan Dragon]. Artisan Dragon is still Monstrous and still has the original +1/+1 counters from when it became monstrous. You will not be able to activate its new Monstrous ability to deal damage and become larger. Your opponents' creatures can now untap because the effect locking them down is no longer on the battlefield.

Now let's say your opponent plays Fleecemane Lion , and you decide that it's the new thing you want to copy, so you trigger Heroic, creating [Artisan Lion]. [Artisan Lion] has a static ability that is only active while it is Monstrous, which is still true. The static ability is therefore in effect. You control a big, Hexproof, Indestructible [Artisan Lion].

tl/dr: Artisan of Forms will remember that it is Monstrous, but will not necessarily keep any benefit from being Monstrous. The effect of Monstrous is specified by each individual card.

when it changes i believe it stays monstrous, so you could monstrous it cheap (for monstrosity anyway) and the shift to, say, Colossus of Akros and kill them. only downside is it wouldn't be 20/20, like it would matter

Thanks for the comments everyone! for a new player like me, a lot of the mechanics of the cards still confuse me! sounds like Artisan of Forms can be very useful (assuming I can keep it alive long enough!)

Artisan of Forms has always seemed like a fun card to SB in against a G/R or mono G devotion deck when playing azorious heroic. Just a thought, some fun shenanigans could be had.
