Topic. I was looking at all the nifty demons in standard currently and wondered if Shadowborn Apostle might work well in a deck with Athreos, God of Passage .
In the briefest possible way.Competative? No.Fun? Heck yeah.

Shadowborn Apostle was kind of almost good back when we had Griselbrand in standard. Lord of the Void & company aren't nearly as good as Griselbrand .

I think if you understand they cannot be your only strategy in the deck, then yes they can work. In the deck I wanna work with a similar build, Athreos says..., I am using them for a part of the deck, but the big hitter will be the Xathrid Necromancer and Mogis's Marauder , along with Athreos, God of Passage . This might give you an idea of what might work, and what ideas you can build on.

TL;DR No. But if you want to play, you'll have a fun deck to play against friends.

I'm sure it's possible, but making it competitive is really hard, at least with our current standard. The target cards are barely worth mentioning, and you can't really cheat the cost by going reanimator or token.
