Anybody use this in a midrange deck? If so how did it do, worth running?

Put it on something with deathtouch. That'll show em. But actually, I've played against it in a metalcraft/equpiment mono-white deck using mostly SOM cats. It was pretty brutal because you had to block or die, but if you blocked, you would likely loose your whole team, meaning you had to play a creature the next turn to survive. It really depends on the deck.

Doesn't work that way, Kusari-Gama deals the damage, not the equipped creature.

Oops, my bad. Unforgivn_II is right. Unless you could give Kusari-Gama deathtouch it wouldn't work. And to give Kusari-Gama deathtouch, you would have to first make it a creature, which means that it could't be attached to a creature. Unless you did all that while it's triggered ability was on the stack. Which seams like way too much work.

The aforementioned Whispersilk Cloak is good. Also Quietus Spike , Basilisk Collar , and any of the Swords. Your equipment mentioned in the original post sucks, unless there's a combo there somewhere.

I can see it working, just force them to block it like with Deadly Allure .

I use it in my Mono Black Voltron EDH and I am very underwhelmed. I use it because I don't like shroud on my commander, so I choose not to use Whispersilk Cloak . The problem with Kusari-Gama is that it has conflicting goals. Obviously, you want to hit the other player, so you want to make blocking disadvantageous, which it does pretty well. But if they aren't blocking, then its doing nothing more that providing inefficient Firebreathing and unblockable. So unless you're trying to use it for a cute combo, Whispersilk Cloak is better. At least, that's what I've found.
