What are some fun combo decks that are on the cheaper side?
""Almost"" all of my decks are budget.
Have a look at the decks I've posted below or take a closer look at my profile. Any advice you have or +1s will be much appreciated.
Hope this helped,Life steal is probably more on the combo side and there is a non-budget version to go along with it. Some of the other combo/budget decks on my profile are still unfinished but might give you a good starting point.

If you're looking for a competitive list, try a Living End deck. Lists can be found at mtgtop8.com. Minus a few lands and it's fairly cheap. Or you could play a budget RDW. That's always a cheap option

Wizard of the Damned is right when saying Living End builds are fairly cheap :D

Depends on what you mean by budget. Anything under $400 is relatively cheap in modern. Going mono-coloured is the first easy way to save money (you save about $300-$500 on lands) and going tribal is the second easiest way, as most tribal decks don't see tournament play. Thirdly, make you combo pieces all commons (Presence of Gond + Midnight Guard ), and/or combos that no one has ever heard nor seen before.
I have an aggro/combo and a combo/control both under $300 right now. They are fairly successful too.
Really needs to be updated ... but I don't wanna mess the rule of 17 it follows. Wah.
Fun to play when your opponent doesn't know the combo. They'll all go, WTF?
