2-300 budget tron help!

My friend has a more casual ramp deck and he's interested in buying a tron deck. His budget is 300.
Obvious cuts are the Grove of the Burnwillows saving 200 bucks
He's also not a fan of the same game every time (consistently ramping is great, just not nessessarly the same card being played) so I was thinking to go with 4 karns, 1-2 ugins, 3 wurmcoil engines, spaghetti and Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre. But that's pretty close to 3 actually
I'd cut the Oblivion Stones but I don't play tron. So any help is appreciated.
The problem with budget tron is that its just not as good as not budget tron and in important ways. You have to play at least 2-3 oblivion stones its the main way to board wipe at instant speed you cant cut them completely and grove is also very important when you start playing at competitive levels if you dont want to play at higher levels its fine but if you do you will need grove

As competitive as possible, just decent enough to not get whooped at fnm.
Really he just plans to play a more competitive casual game(i mean beat people he'll play against outside of tournaments) but semi-fnm viability would be nice

Ok in that case do what I did and play Copperline Gorge instead of grove and it depends on if he thinks he will play against affinity and twin at fnm because if you dont then maybe you wont need o-stone but only 2 board wipes isnt enough in some match ups like jund and junk

If you're on a 2-300 dollar budget, wouldn't it be easier to play Mono-U Tron? My whole deck is $290 for U-Tron, and it is competitive. You can build up to GR Tron from the pieces you get from it, I would think.

With buildingadeck on this one :) While GR is often superior to U Tron, U can be fully built for $300 without cutting corners. I'm not sure how bad it would be to water down GR Tron, but it's often a terrible idea to water down decks.

Mono u tron would be more budget friendly than gr tron

Sorry for being late to the party. Mono G Tron could work. You lose Pyroclasm though. However, as previously stated, mono U Tron is going to be much more budget friendly and still be able to function. GR Tron doesn't work as well on a budget.
