Views on Akroan Horse

What do you think about Akroan Horse ?
It's ok in Limited, and it can be a powerful card in EDH/multiplayer in general, but I doubt it'll be anything more than that. Great flavor, but a little on the confusing side for new players, I suspect.

Akroan Horse can't attack or block.
When Akroan Horse enters the battlefield, an opponent gains control of it.
At the beginning of you your upkeep if you're not the owner of Akroan Horse, the owner of Akroan Horse puts a 1/1 white Soldier creature token on the battlefield.

Flavor wise it's awesome. Play wise it's not that great. Limited is the only thing I've seen where it has a little bit of success.

I love the card. I use it pretty much wherever I can. Right now it's in both my Zedruu the Greathearted and Gahiji, Honored One builds. :D
My only qualm is that it's rare. It would have been an amazing uncommon.

I like it. I built a deck with it to show it wasn't as bad as people were labeling it:

I'd even like to think it's semi-competitive.

I hate it....please change my mind. My distaste of it comes from my not understanding how to use it...PS: I play standad and edh, but I am new to edh so I may be missing something.

One time I was playing a variant of EDH where the first time you cast your commander you get a free Booster Tutor . I was playing my Zedruu build and the rare of my pack was an Akroan Horse . Never been so happy to see one in my life. Threw a Prison Term on it so it wouldn't die.

Theros has some of the best flavor, but as a card Akroan Horse is lacking for a rare.

capriom85, I believe Akroan Horse is best used in 2 kinds of decks: one that uses cheap soldier tokens and others cards (like mine) and some weird control deck that wants a creature every turn and doesn't run Assemble the Legion . And a Zedruu the Greathearted EDH deck cause you want your opponent to have your stuff.
It's good in the fact that you get a creature during your opponent's upkeep, making it able to block and attack without summoning sickness your next turn, can't attack, doesn't kill anything when it blocks, and although it produces white tokens, it isn't color-specific. It's bad because you only get one weak token, making it slow, it's a creature, making it able to block those same tokens it makes, and, although this is purely for flavor purposes, goes to your opponent.

1/1 tokens are for sacrificing, think about Bubbling Cauldron or Undercity Informer

I think the flavor is awesome, and I'd love to make a casual deck playing one for kicks, but other than that, unless it's some weird play with the red god, I don't see it being anything other than a booster pack let down.
