This is my favorite card spoiled so far!

Triad of Fates

Legendary Creature Human Wizard

1, T: Put a fate counter on another target creature.

W, T: Exile target creature that has a fate counter on it, then return it to the battlefield under its owner's control.

B, T: Exile target creature that has a fate counter on it. Its controller draws two cards.

Slow removal...?

If adding fate counters didn't require tapping it, then it may be okay. But as it sits it doesn't have haste, so you have to wait a turn to be able add a counter to something... then you have to wait a turn to either flicker or exile the creature you put the counter on... I just don't see an viable use for this.

It's Legendary, so you can't even get multiple of these in play, so as to speed up the process... but I'd rather have 2 creatures that each actually DO something.

Maybe there are still cards to be spoiled that do something with fate counters...?

Perhaps a reprint of Oblivion Stone ??

I do see why they had to keep this slow...

Would combo with Erebos to easily if you could add a counter and flicker inthe same turn.

Return a creature.... add counter... flicker... keep creature permanently.

Can still be done if you have a way to untap this guy and use a second ability... might be be worth looking into.

Rayenous: are you talking about Whip of Erebos to return creatures then use Triad of Fates to blink and keep them permanently? If so, the Whip says if the creature would leave the battlefield for any reason, exile them instead. So the only viable way to get to keep a creature that I know of is to get a copy of it. For instance, use whip to get back Shadowborn Demon , then cast Clone or a spell that targets Artisan of Forms and copy the creature you just put out. Otherwise, any means of trying to make the creature itself stay permanently are all for naught. :(

Also, I'm hoping for something like a Council of the Absolute that works with Fate counters: creatures your opponents control with Fate counters are limited to something, creatures you control with Fate counters gain some sort of advantage. That would be nice. :o its adds flavor like "putting fate into your hands and taking fate away from opponents".

Actually Dave you are wrong. In the article where Whip of Erebos was spoiled he said as long as the creatures is exiled during the end step then it satisfies the requirement while being able to keep the creature. He used Obzedat, Ghost Council as the example.

Quote:

"It's a bit tricky ruleswise, but the gist of it is this: if you Whip back Obzedat, you can exile it at the end of turn to its own effect. If you do that, it's still getting exiled so the Whip is happy. Then, it will come back later on ready and raring to go. Fighting off an Obzedat was hard enoughnow try fighting off an Obzedat that truly can't die!"

This card would have the same effect as his ability so I can't see why this would not be the same. Of course you would have to untap Triad of Fates to do it but it is doable, just maybe not in standard.

unzensierte: That makes sense and is pretty cool. I thought the Whip was a replacement ability or something of the sorts that allowed no way around it, but now its better than I thought. Thanks for clarifying! :P

You just have to use the stack properly and you can avoid the permanant exile
