at the star city open in worcester mass this combo kinda made no sense to me but Phyrexian Dreadnought vanish combo?? according to the judges when he comes back next turn from the vanish effect he doesnt have to sac creatures and can immediately swing with dreadnought none of this made any sense as it happened. any way to explain why this works??? im fairly certain he resolves and enters the battle field before he can vanish it idk. i appologize for not knowing the instant spells name for the vanish effect
what was the actual ability that had did this vanish effect? The question would be a ton clearer if you knew the card.

The combo is with Vision Charm , choosing "Target Artifact phases out."
The ruling that phasing in and out does not constitute "Entering" or "Leaving" the battlefield, means that after Phyrexian Dreadnought 's ETB goes on the stack, you can phase it out, preventing it from being sac'd.... when it phases back in, it'd ETB does not trigger again.
You can also use Torpor Orb , to simply not need to sac it in the first place, as the ETB does not trigger.

no it was a 1 drop instant that removed dreadnought from the game and put him back in next turn

Looking through the decklists on StarCity for the event, the only one with Phyrexian Dreadnought had Stifle and Trickbind , but not any sort of blink/vanish effects.

It's kind of important to know the name of the other spell.
