Birthing Pod decks

I've come up with some prototype decks that focus on the tribes (zombies, spirits, vampires, etc). What are some thoughts about that? Yes? No?
I do think things like Dungeon Geists and Geralf's Messenger would be solid. And, generally speaking, most things with Undying will make good additions to a pod deck.

Agreed. Undying has made Birthing Pod very mean.

Of course, everyone's still waiting for the pod deck to happen. Because it hasn't yet. So far, pod decks just haven't been reliable. I think it's out there, with the right combination of cards, it's going to be real mean, and real nasty. And I think it's sitting in front of our noses. But, no one's seen it yet.
Might wrack my brain crunch out some ideas later. We'll see. I feel like Black/Green would be a strong strategy. However, I'm often wrong.

Pod decks are basically slower, less consistent ramp decks. However, sometimes the uncounterable nature of podding a creature into play can be huge. I've been tinkering with working the Knowledge Pool + Curse of Exhaustion combo into a pod shell using Grand Abolisher to prevent my opponent from screwing up my plans when I go for the lockdown. It isn't quite there yet and I don't know if it ever will be but it's worth looking at.

There's a kid the other week at our local FNM that was playing a Knowledge Pool + Curse of Exhaustion deck. It's a terribly mean combo. But, he courteous enough to let everyone one of his opponents know that he was there to piss them off and make them not enjoy playing magic. So, that's was classy of him.

Saccing a creature with Undying and Podding into a creature with Morbid, like Hollowhenge Scavenger, is huge. You lost nothing, gained life, and got a bigger creature.
As far as being a slower ramp deck, I disagree. The Pod is an outstanding tutor. I've laid a 1st turn Birds of Paradise, 2nd turn Viridian Emissary, 3rd turn Pod, 4th turn Primeval Titan, and 5th turn Elesh Norn. That usually shuts most decks down. An alternate win con is adding Inmoth Nexus and Kessig Wolf Run. I'm toying with that build now...
Having a Mimic Vat or two in a Pod deck makes for real fun, added with steal creature cards like Act of Aggression (etc), after you swing, sac it to the Pod (or vice versa) and exile it to Mimic Vat. Many, many possibilities ...
The idea I had with the tribal Pod decks was to incorporate undying, LTB effects, say like Doomed Traveler, and build a massive board presence, easily fetching the creature you need.
What I've noticed about a tool box build in Pod decks is that they have to be able to run without the Pod. Or even just use it once. Glissa in a Jund Pod deck is sick... kill the Pod and it comes back lol.
I'll be posting some rough drafts of some builds I have and look forward to any comments.

I think that Kessig Pod has legs and I wanted more than anything to have bant pod do something.

Bant is G/W/U, yes? If so, I'm working on a list. Wanted to include some Spirits and control with that one.
Another reason why I love Pod decks is thay I have alot of 'one ofs' and lack a playset. Birthing Pod makes those cards viable, adds a tool box, and gives more variety.
So, I'll finish my G/W/U Pod and post it soon.

for birthing pod you just want good entering and leaving the battlefield stuff, regardless of tribes.
