Should I add more protection for my commander

Commander Deck Help forum

Hello fellow EDH players. I’m facing a dilemma I’d like some help with.

I’m working on making a Voltron deck around Wraith, Vicious Vigilante, but my regular edh pod has two players who have a tendency to auto target and/or kill on sight any Voltron deck, one of which often uses many control pieces in his decks. I’m wondering if I should add more protection and counter magic, and what cards could I cut to do so? I’ll link the deck below, thank you for your feedback!

Greetings!

I'll give your deck a look soon(tm), but for a "generic" Voltron Commander (where we have to include protection, evasion, and buffs), I like 10-12 protection pieces and 6-10 evasion pieces. Since Wraith, Vicious Vigilante has built-in evasion and we know at least a couple players (tbf, I would be too!) will be gunning for her, I would personally be aiming for 16-22 protection pieces.

Cheers!

By the way, can anyone tell me what f-etch means?

I concur you should have more protection spells. Especially instants(including, but not limited to, Lazotep Plating and Family Reunion) and Auras with Flash (including, but not limited to, Cradle of Safety and Shardmage's Rescue).

I'd also go a bit farther and add any combination of Crystal Barricade, Leyline of Sanctity, Teyo, the Shieldmage and Witchbane Orb so they can't force you to sacrifice.

Hope this helps. Happy Hunting!
