At this point, I see G as unlikely. We're seeing good R and U and we already have 2 early picks that are both colors.
But if we do go into G, then I think it needs to be a main color in order to take a mana fixer like Font of Fertility . If we can cast an early G spell, that means we already have our smallest color (the one the fixing would give us).
I like cards like that, but I really think we're RU with a possible G splash.

Any last hour votes, opinion change? This is a tiebreaker we need to deal with. Also I don't have votes from: RousseausDisciple and SpecialWabbit

Triton Shorestalker hands down.
Cheap, evasive, on-color. We can't ask for a lot more than that right now.
Font is an off-color, noncreature spell, and Pensive Minotaur is more expensive and less evasive. I don't see a convincing argument for either.

Pack 1, Pick 8
Countermand
Dreadbringer Lampads
Eagle of the Watch
Grim Guardian
Lightning Diadem
Market Festival
Pheres-Band Thunderhoof

The red and blue spells look overpriced. I'm leaning toward Market Festival . Even with G as a splash, I think this is reasonable on T4 and gives us acceleration. Also makes for a good hate draft. Not committed yet.

No offence, but Market Festival is a pretty poor choice. Desecration Plague is being run as enchantment removal since removal is so poor in this block, so the Festival is asking to be potentially 2-for-1'ed. And it's definitely not worth hate drafting, especially since it's already mid-way through the pack. Hate drafting means first-picking things like Feast of Dreams , which is the only decent common removal.
I do agree that our choices here seem pretty bleak, but Eagle of the Watch doubles as a pinger as well as can potentially trade up with some 2 toughness creature. My next two choices would be Lightning Diadem and Pheres-Band Thunderhoof in that order.
+1 Eagle of the Watch .

I am generally a fan of creatures, so I agree with DaShPrime's evaluation (also, I think the comments about Market Festival were spot on). I am a greater fan of Lightning Diadem than most, though, so I wouldn't mind that.
Still voting +1 Eagle of the Watch .
Also of note: Grim Guardian is a pretty decent hate draft. But we could conceivably play either Eagle or Diadem, so I don't like hating Guardian here.

Nothing here seems like a definite main deck pick, but I think lightning diadem is the most useful thing here, as it could enchant the triton late game and do some unexpected burn, potentially 5 direct damage, something they wouldn't expect to happen. And it almost completely cuts off our colors.
+1 Lightning Diadem

The eagle is relatively cheap and has evasion, but not much of body. Probably the best choice, but I'm not sold on it. I kind of like the thunderhoof if we were going with a green splash. It has a decent body and a good heroic trigger. And we already have another green creature. I think I just convinced myself to take the latter.

I can't see picking anything B or W at this point unless it's something very strong. With our build so far, I think Lightning Diadem
and Market Festival
are the only two considerations. I'd rather take R than G for us. Just seems too expensive to maindeck.
Has anyone ever run Lightning Diadem
or seen it get run? Thoughts?

I like the idea of passing no red cards whatsoever here. I suppose there's a chance it could maindeck.

I actually change my vote
-1 lightning Diadem.
+1 Pheres-Band Thunderhoof
I think we've cut off red good enough for now, and we should get more heroic stuff before we justify a below average enchantment. Also, this way it's not clear which of red and/or green is being strongly picked. I think I was also right about blue being cut off to us, so r/g may be our colors.

after reading all the discussion several times and contemplating the choices, i think
+1 pheres-band thunderhoof

There are a lot of big creatures in green, and it seems like we are going into three colors so color fixing will be big. The more I think about it, the more I like it
-1 triton
+1 font of fertility
