To your point, I definitely appreciate that you're going "budget" with it. That's the very reason why I built it. Our playgroup is trying to stay with $200-400 deck prices.

So this deck was a perfect starting point that I could buff up just a bit (it was already really strong and overhwhelming with tokens!).

Honestly, I just dont know what I would take out and replace.

So far I'm cutting: Arguel's Blood Fast  Flip , Embalmer's Tools , Discovery / Dispersal , Gray Merchant of Asphodel , Forbidden Alchemy

The additions: Dictate of Erebos , Winter Orb , Cryptic Command , Vampiric Tutor , Demonic Tutor , Thoughseize, Feast of Dreams , Hymn to Tourach

Any ideas on what else I could cut to make room for the last few additions? Thanks!

Ryjo on Is there a “reverse” Terror?

Some of the 2 CMC or less black instants that allow you to destroy black creatures include: Devour in Shadow, Disembowel, Fatal Blow, Fatal Push, Feast of Dreams, Gang Up, Go for the Throat, Hero's Demise, Human Frailty, Killing Glare, Smother, Soul Rend, Ultimate Price, and Victim of Night.

Some of the 2 CMC or less black sorceries that allow you to destroy black creatures include: Bone Splinters, Death Stroke, Defeat, Do or Die, Feast of Blood, Imperial Edict, Liliana's Defeat, Murderous Compulsion, Reave Soul, Severed Strands, Soul Reap, Walk the Plank, and Wretched Banquet.

@Carpecanum: Sanitarium Skeleton and Tenacious Dead are mana equivalent (and I already had them on-hand) to Reassembling Skeleton. Though reassembling is probably strictly better. Squee and thopter assembly are also good, again I just didn't already have a copy and I was trying to build out of my own collection to save $$$ on it. There were also concessions made for strategy as the group that I'm playing with is posting deck lists before we play so I know what their commander is and what they're bringing to the table. That's why there are some odd one-ofs like Feast of Dreams.

Coward_Token on Any Arachnus combos?

Arachnus Spinner lets you put Arachnus Web from your library or graveyard as long as it's in either and you have the spiders to tap. Does this combo with anything? All could think of is constellation and Ramses Overdark (& Feast of Dreams) for recuring triggers/removal but that doesn't seem too exciting (especially with Ramses).

The SB looks pretty solid. I would swap the Feast of Dreams out for some Hero's Downfall to catch those pesky Planeswalkers when they show up. I love the Waste Not idea. With all the discard that your opponents will do, you should be able to get a lot of value from that. I think 2x Waste Not for 2x Mind Shatter is a huge value upgrade.

I've only run a few tests online. I think that Mind Shatter might be less useful than I thought it was in here, especially having Dark Deal. Having multiple out of Underworld Dreams and Liliana's Caress has created major havoc a few times! I'm going to try as you suggest and take out a Damnation and stick in another Damnable Pact. Taking out the two Mind Shatter, maybe Waste Not would be a good addition into here?

As for a sideboard, I have a few ideas...

2 Ensnaring Bridge

2 Nihil Spellbomb

2 Smallpox

3 Drown in Sorrow

2 Feast of Dreams

2 Go for the Throat

2 Smother

Basically just cards to swap in case the opponent has a buttload of small creatures, as well as Ensnaring Bridge in case there are some big ones. I am totally up for suggestions though. I can't believe I hadn't started deck building before now...THIS IS SO MUCH FUN!!!

Thanks Gwynn!

You're right, I had Feast of Dreams for big scary enchanted creatures, but I already have Doom Blade, Diabolic Edict, and Warren Weirding for powerful removals.

I've made a lot of changes to this deck, and it's really starting to come around! I'm free for games if you want to give it a try!
