Decks Added: Loam

Maybe tier 1.5 deck because I can't see how such a popular deck with a high win rate can be tier 2.

Tier 1.5 sounds right. Lacks some consistency but undeniably strong.

You still need to rephrase the one part in it also.
"Chalice of the Void and Engineered Explosives are devastating against almost every other modern deck, and they barely affect Bloom Titan given that it plays virtually no permanents besides lands, Amulet of Vigor and the titan" is simply misleading. Chalice of the Void interacts with far more than permanents which is what makes it so powerful. The general deckbuilding strategy of "curving out" backfires when Chalice of the Void is used.
I'd rephrase it as something like:
Chalice of the Void and Engineered Explosives are powerful against almost every other modern deck, due to the mana curve of most other decks. Most modern decks play lots of cheap, efficient spells to win games, while Bloom Titan only cares about Amulet of Vigor and Summoner's Pact in it's lower CMC slots, both of which it can function without.

Sorry, I'm ill at the moment. I promise I will do it when I have a chance.

Excuse me, but why did you remove the jeskai ascendancy deck from the primer?
February 8, 2015 8:06 p.m.
GlistenerAgent says... #7
Because it's not really relevant anymore. No one played it at the Pro Tour, and banning the delve spells did a number on its consistency.

GlistenerAgent, well damn... I was planning to get into modern if ascendancy. Here's my deck if you want to laugh at it An Attempt at Ascendancy

I dont think amulet bloom combo is simply tier 2; after coming in second during the pro tour it at least deserves 1.5

Might I make a suggestion? A link to an example of each deck under the primer for it would be excellent for playtesters and new players alike.
February 13, 2015 7:17 a.m.
Yes. We have individual people working on longer deck primers that will be linked to. What we will not be doing is linking to personal decklists, as this would be a form of advertising which is a little unfair. So any links to decks in primer sections have to be informational, not promotional.
February 13, 2015 7:55 a.m.
Well, what I was looking for was just an example of a deck of that archetype that I could playtest against in order to improve my own Modern deck. If you could either make an example from scratch or copy from mtgtop8, that would probably enough of a middle ground in terms of avoiding advertising.
February 13, 2015 8:11 a.m.
Yeh that's the idea. Which deck is it, out of interest?
February 13, 2015 8:36 a.m.
Absolute jank, but I don't have fun knowing that other people are running the same thing or close to it. Still undergoing heavy testing and iteration, since right now it is... less than optimal.

(Feel free to clean that comment out after taking a look. I'm not sure I'm entirely comfortable self-advertising on a primer, of all things)
February 13, 2015 8:41 a.m.
Sorry my meaning was - what do you want to playtest against? Or is it just everything?
February 13, 2015 8:46 a.m.
Oh, whoops. Definitely clear it out then.
Yeah, I'm still fairly new to the modern format, so the best way to ensure that anything I make can compete with the meta is to directly test it against the meta (everything in the meta)- since I lack the experience to look at something and tell its matchups at a glance.

Dekord I posted a link on your wall that you might find useful in the interim.

Yeah. I'm just glad to hear you guys are working on it.
And I saw that Jray- thanks man.

What is a "primer?" With the ban list updates.
February 22, 2015 1:24 p.m.
A 'primer' is an instructional text that tells you how to do something. A deck primer tells you how to play a deck. A format primer tells you about a format. The 'ban list update' part of the title refers to the fact that recently certain cards were banned in modern and the primer has been updated to reflect that.

No, it's not. It has had some success in the hands of a strong pilot, but it is by no means consistent enough to be Tier 1.
