Thanks to kamarupa I have been introduced to the beauty that is Tezzeret's Gambit. Just the proliferate would have probably been enough, however the card draw helps the deck to keep its momentum. However something needed to be taken out. To make room I cut Abzan Battle Priest. While the lifelink is good at four mana it either comes down to late or not at all in this deck. With the most expensive spell being taken out and card draw added the deck can now support 19 lands.

Next I wanted to make some changes to the removal I have. Kamarupa made some compelling arguments for me to switch to Journey to Nowhere. However, with Modern Horizons I decided to take this change one step further. On Thin Ice is a great piece of removal as one mana is a big difference in a deck like this. While this does require a switch to the more expensive Snow basics Modern Horizons has made them much more affordable. However, On Thin Ice makes this deck more weak to land destruction decks. If those are common in your meta I would recommend Journey to Nowhere. Of note On Thin Ice will be also be effected by Ghost Quarter, however it is not effected by Tectonic Edge and Field of Ruin which I've found to be more common.

Nevermore will be replacing Gideon's Intervention as it one cheaper and therefore easier to play on time. While Gideon's Intervention's second line of text helps this it may come to late for non damage combos.

Hidden Dragonslayer is just to slow and has to little an impact. Additionally, it's morph does not trigger as a human. Therefore it will be a better use of mana to just play a removal spell. Hence the Valourous Stance which fills the same role of killing large creatures, while also being able to protect creatures from removal, combat tricks, and board wipes. Additionally, Immortal Servitude can be game winning for the games that go especialy long.

Lastly, I have found that Aegis of the Gods is a better hate card than celestial purge. It protects from burn, discard, and any other nasty tricks. Additionally, it being a creature makes it more useful in an aggro deck.

Thanks for the upvote kamarupa! Your decklist is very interesting. I had never considered Tezzeret's Gambit .

Since your deck is so close to mine, I know it's good!

Tezzeret's Gambit is awesome and I highly recommend it. I cast it for 3 all the time and just take the 2 damage. (totally worth it!) When I first added it, I didn't even include any blue mana producing lands. Mass Appeal is a pretty good draw card option, too, but the Proliferate with the Gambit is just unbeatable. Even without lands available to play creatures drawn with the Gambit, the Proliferation alone can sometimes be enough for a win. I was so sad when Grateful Apparition wasn't a Human, lol. Both the Gambit and Appeal, IMHO, are better than Mentor of the Meek , which I consider slow and too costly CMC-wise.
