ROUND 1.. 2-1
I went against a URw Tempo list. My opening hand game one had no creatures and lots of removal. Needless to say I lost at the hand of geist beats. Game 2 he got mana screwed when keeping a 1 land hand. Game three he couldn't flip his delvers and miscalculated a block when doran was out. Pretty cool that snappy is a 2/1 and delver is a 3/2.
ROUND 2.. 2-0
This game was against affinity. Affinity historically has been a great matchup for me due to the interaction between Doran and Cranial Plating and the battlecry mechanic. Game one was VERY close. I won at 1 life. When playing against affinity I cannot stress how important it is to save yourself from taking damage. I fetched a basic land instead of a dual when I could of used the fixing, and I closed the game at 1 life. Game two was much easier. My opponent kept a poor hand that had some weird Welding Jar tech. Welding jar is interesting tech but it simply doesnt win the game. I fetched doran asap to counter his cranial plating etc and closed the game out easily.
ROUND 3.. 2-0
This was a game against storm. I'd never played against a storm deck at a tournament, so it was a very interesting match. Game one he was unable to combo out so I won. Game two I kept a hand with two rhinos, and simply did as much as I could to keep a high life total as to counter his storm ability. The higher your life total is the harder it is for storm to win. thanks to Spellskite I was able to save Doran from a double bolt and I won with little trouble.
ROUND 4.. draw-1
This game I played against the guy that goes to PTQs and stuff. He was playing UG infect. This was a VERY hard match and I was SO close to winning the match. If I had remembered to flashback lingering souls a turn earlier I would of been able to close out the game I believe. When facing infect, you just want to stack your hand with removal. Infect runs cards like Vines of Vastwood to counter removal, so you need as much as possible. Liliana of the Veil is very good in this matchup! being able to force your opponent to discard while also making them sac creatures to get around the protection or vines is really OP. We agreed to tie out game one so that we would be guaranteed first and second. Game two was when I got lili, but he happened to get the top deck. Great match and a good learning experience.

I wound up in second place, and got 4 packs out of it.. straight to the credit bank! this was a great tournament for me, it was good to see that I can still win even when I haven't been at a competitive scene for a while.
