Veiled Sentry
Enchantment
When an opponent plays a spell, if Veiled Sentry is an enchantment, Veiled Sentry becomes an Illusion creature with power and toughness each equal to that spell's converted mana cost.

Let me Reanimate this deck.
Mizzium Skin can also protect your illusions from spells and counter one that's on the pile. It could also provide a mini combat trick to save a creature, but +0/+1 is still lame.
Veiling Oddity can setup a kill.
Illusory Angel works well with low cost stuff like suspensions or Phantasmal Bear.
AEtherplasm can bring stuff to your board and/or keep you safe while attacking with all your flying board.
Sneaky Homunculus and AEther Figment work very well too, especially AEther Figment.
Maybe : Riftwing Cloudskate for some little but sometimes needed control.
And if you want to play it casually there are cards like Somnophore and Veiled Sentry that put some pseudo-control pressure easily while keeping an aggro spirit.
Also with my bad pun, I just realized some could do great things with some reanimation on Lord of the Unreal or Phantasmal Image

yeah i'm a silly goose and didn't realize that mistake. looked online at some threads, and went with these changes, High tide will probs replace Veiled Sentry. gonna do some testing to see if its worth it to keep 2 of those. its one of my first Magic cards so it holds a lot of nostalgia for me.

Player casting Whelming Wave declares intent to cast the spell, pays the associated costs and it's put on the stack. Veiled Sentry triggers on the casting of WW and its ability is put on the stack. Priority passes around and VS's ability makes it a creature. Whelming Wave then resolves bouncing your veiled sentry back to your hand.
