Overwhelming Denial interactions

Asked by Argy 7 years ago

Let's say I cast Smuggler's Copter and in response my Opponent casts Negate to which I in turn respond with Overwhelming Denial.

Can they cast another Negate, but not in response to Overwhelming Denial? So, can they say that Smuggler's Copter is still on the stack, and they are casting a Negate before it resolves, that has nothing to do with the other cards on the stack?

I hope I've worded that correctly.

I don't think they can, because the Smuggler's Copter will resolve after the Overwhelming Denial has been cast.

Overwhelming Denial only prevents itself from being countered. So they can cast another Negate in response to the denial targeting your Smuggler's Copter if they would like. They could also let the denial resolve and then counter the copter before the copter resolves. Objects on the stack resolve one at a time with a round of priority between each object, Overwhelming Denial does nothing to change this.

OK no worries.

Thanks for clearing that up.
