Mairsil, the Pretender + Kaho, Minamo Historian

I cast Mairsil, the Pretender and exile Kaho, Minamo Historian with a cage counter on it (also Akroma's Memorial for haste). Can I tap Mairsil and pay 4 mana to cast Kaho?

No because Kaho says " You may cast a card with converted mana cost X exiled with Kaho without paying its mana cost." This means that it can only play cards that have been exiled by Kaho's EtB effect.

Dracula:

If an activated ability of a card in exile with a cage counter on it references the card its printed on by name, treat Mairsils instance of that ability as though it referenced Mairsil by name instead. For instance, if Mairsil exiles Magus of the Mind, the cost to activate the ability includes sacrificing Mairsil, not sacrificing Magus of the Mind.

Kaho, Minamo Historian's abilities are linked, the activated ability only refers to cards exiled by the first ability. As Mairsil, the Pretender does not have the first ability, there will be no cards exiled with it to cast with the copied ability. As you pointed out, when the ability refers to the creature by name, it refers to the card that actually has the ability, so you won't even be able to cast cards exiled by the original Kaho now in a cage.

Thanks Neo. By the way, why is it considered linked to Kaho's first ability? I thought it lets you play any card exiled by an ability from the source permanent.

But you can play a card that has been exiled with Mairsil, just one, the ona that actually was removed with him, with his comes into play.
