Interaction between Emeria Shepherd and Shefet Monitor

So my question would be how this stuff goes;

I have New Perspectives and Emeria Shepherd on the field.

Now I cycle Shefet Monitor for any basic land. (let's assume it's not a plains here)

What I intend to do: get all the basics from my deck on the battlefield in one turn by cycling for 0, triggering landfall, returning the monitor to my hand and cycle again for 0, rinse&repeat.

What I think could conflict: idk about the exact order of operation when cycling- is the Monitor already in the grave when Landfall from the Shepherd triggers?

Discarding a card is part of the cost of activating the cycling ability. The discarded card will be in the graveyard before anything else goes onto the stack.
