If my Nomads en-Kor blocks a 5/5 creature, and my Shaman en-Kor blocks a 7/7 creature. And then I redirect all damage to Wall of Essence. Do I gain 12 life?

According to the rules:

  1. Redirected combat damage is still considered combat damage.

  2. You may redirect an amount of damage to a creature that's greater than its toughness. For example, if 3 damage would be dealt to an en-Kor creature, you may activate its ability three times targeting a 1/1 creature. All 3 damage will be redirected.

But, I haven't found any rules supporting redirecting damage to a single creature from multiple en-Kor sources at the same time. Does the wall die before receiving the second set of redirected damage? But from the second rule, it kind of implies that you can consolidate and redirect all the damage at the same time...?

Sorry, unsure whether it's a stupid question or not.

I'm not 100% certain, but I believe that you are correct. All combat damage (with the exception of first strike and double strike damage) is dealt simultaneously, so I would assume that you would be able to redirect all the damage, and thus gain 12 life. A Gatherer ruling for Nomads en-Kor says "It is possible to redirect more damage to a creature than that creatures toughness."

I think this ruling from the MTG wiki will help clarify things:

At the time damage would be dealt to an en-Kor creature, its controller chooses which redirection and/or prevention shields to apply out of all the shields that have been created that turn. It doesn't matter what order they were created in. All such shields are applied at the same time.

The way it works is that you activate the ability an arbitrary number of times to build up a "shield" for that en-Kor creature, choosing a target for each point of damage (in this case, all to the Wall of Essence). When damage is dealt to your two creatures (at the same time since all combat damage is dealt simultaneously), you can choose how much of it you want to redirect. Since redirection effects are replacement effects, there's no stack interactions here. All 12 damage would be redirected to the wall, gaining you 12 life.

I hope this helped :)
