Combat damage vs Effect damage

Would Kashi-Tribe Elites tap effect work with cards like Rabid Bite, Clear Shot or Viridian Longbow? Or are those cards considered effect damage?

No, they would not work. Combat damage is exclusively damage that takes place via the combat step (tapping a creature and declaring an attack). Any other kind of damage, including the cards you listed, are considered effect damage.

The usual term is "noncombat damage," as seen on Soul-Scar Mage, but it isn't used often.
