Aethersphere Harvester before crew is paid

Can I activate Aethersphere Harvester's lifelink ability before it is a creature? And even though multiple instance of lifelink is redundant is it possible to use the ability multiple times?

The idea is to use Aethersphere Harvester to remove energy counters so that I can play Greenbelt Rampager more than 3 times.

Yes and yes. Non-creature cards can have lifelink. In fact, Soulfire Grand Master gives your instants and sorceries lifelink. And just because the ability is redundant, doesn't prevent you from using the ability that grants it.
