T/O Rank and Helper Rank

TappedOut forum

Out of curiosity, what drives the T/O ranking and the Helper ranking?

I've noticed my T/O ranking fluctuating over time; raising seemingly slightly based on my current activity level in the forums. Recently though, it's just been primarily Plummeting from about 900 to 3300.

From the time I noticed the Helper rank, I have still yet to achieve a ranking.

All of this has just made me wonder what exactly drives these two different rankings. Any thoughts and slash or specific knowledge?

T/O rank - how active you are on the site. Pretty much everything you do will grant you points in the overall race. Nobody knows the finish line.

Helper rank - helping out in the Rules Q&A, if I am not mistaken.

Boza, thanks! I assumed something about like that for the T/O rank.

My T/O rank fluctuates between 2-5 normally. It all depends on how active you are.

I was 5, I decreased my activity significantly recently, dropped to 11.

Helper rank is how often you make suggestions to decks.

Helper rank is connected to card suggestions on decks, not to the Q&A. I am very active on the Q&A but have a relatively low helper rank.

I have made a number of 'good' suggestions before and after its implementation and still have no helper rank.

I, however, have not participated in the Q&A section ever. I'd be inclined to say helper rank has very little to do with card suggestions.

DreadnoughtMTG I've made numerous good card suggestions to decks and I'm fairly certain that's where the helper rank comes from. HOWEVER, I think commenting on decks also boosts the helper rank.

ah, then the world may never know. Because it sure as heck isn't the Q&A.

Is the helper rank just exceptionally exclusive then? None of my good card suggestions or comments have yet to alleviate my 'none yet' on helper rank. Oh well, I've noticed the activity correlation to T/O rank.

No clue buddy. I'm 529 with 82 good suggestions. I answer approximately 1/10-1/5 of the questions in the Q&A so if it was from there I would be top 10 easily. DrFunk27 is 236 with 35 good card suggestions and I rarely ever see him on the Q&A.

The world may never know about helper rank.

I have about 25 good suggestions I believe and nothing on helper. So yep, no idea. Maybe I'll just have to ask yeaGO

Gidgetimer Don't think I've ever used Q&A. Like I said, I'm pretty sure it's making card suggestions on deck pages, etc.

Why do you say you have nothing? You're rated number 2064.

Helper rank doesn't show on his profile.

T/O rank is site activity.

Helper rank is helping other people with their decks.

Does the proximity of good suggestions to each other have any bearing on the helper rank similar to how the activity ranking works?

Weird double post from my phone earlier too..

It seems like Helper Rank only shows when you are at a certain point, or have made suggestions recently. From what I can gather, older activity on this site becomes expired, and reduces your point total as they no longer become relevant. This is interesting, and honestly a good thing as it is an excellent method in cycling users.

An example is that Gidgetimer has a higher helper rank than me, but I have a much larger suggestions base than him. I however, haven't made a suggestion in a very long time.

Very interesting. Thanks Femme!
