How Long Will it Be Until There is a Norse Mythology-Themed Block?

With the announcement of the Amonkhet block, this game shall now have and both a Greek mythology-themed set and an ancient Egypt-themed set, so I believe that it is safe to presume that it is only a matter of time until WotC prints a Norse mythology-themed block, as well, which is my fondest wish from this game, now that Eternal Masters is real. The only uncertainty is how long it shall be until there is such a block.

The Amonkhet block shall be five blocks after Theros, so I wonder if there shall be a Norse mythology-themed set five blocks after Amonkhet, because it certainly will not be any sooner than that.

What does everyone else say about this? How long will it be until there is a Norse mythology-themed block in this game?

Can't really say it's certain that it won't be any sooner than 5 blocks after Amongst without MaRo saying as much. That's a pretty big assumption. Also can't really say it's certain to happen, even if it's likely to.

What I think could be really interesting (though highly unlikely to actually happen) is if we get Amonkhet, a Return to Theros, and then a Norse Mythology block and have a standard centered around various mythos!

you do know there's a lot more blocks based on mythologies, portal: Chinese mythology, kamigawa:Japanese mythology, ravnica:Indian mythology I think, innistrad: european fairy tails, theros:as you said greek, khans:mongolian. if I missed anything let me know.

Ravnica was more like an Italian city-state theme.

Innistrad isn't european lore. It's global gothic horror.

They already did a Norse themed block. It was called Ice Age.

That said, I would love to see another.

logansullivan, only the Mardu clan was based off the Mongolian hordes, the most obvious indication being that their full name was the Mardu hordes; the Abzan were inspired by Ottoman Turks and/or Persians; the Jeskai were inspired by Chinese and/or Tibetan monks; the Sultai had a Thai/Cambodian theme; and I am not certain about the real-world inspiration for the Temur; Siberia, perhaps?

Zauberer, the Norse theme of Ice Age was not very prominent; it was only a minor element of the block, and I seek a block that is as strongly Norse-inspired as Theros was Greek-inspired. This game has a plane called Valla, as seen on Immersturm, which has a very clear Norse theme, so I believe that they would be the perfect plane for a Norse mythology-themed block.

Jay, I did very much like the Celtic theme of the Lorwyn/Shadowmoor block, but Celtic is not Nordic, which is what I seek.
