UB value/midrange?

Modern Deck Help forum

So I want to start building another list, I don't want to just copy a strategy and I want to build it around Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver. I feel like ashiok is very underplayed and could add some serious value to a midrange/control deck.

I think the spell package will be pretty standard (duress, though seize, mana leak, dismember, visions, ect) but im really at a loss for the creatures.

I don't really want to play delver in this set up and i dont want to go all in on control i was thinking 16-20 creatures.

Im already considering Wasteland Strangler (it has great synergy with ashiok) but i really am at a loss on what else to include. I just want cheap efficient creatures that bring allot of added value and have possibly synergy with ashiok.

So instead of sifting through hundreds of cards like i normally do, i figured I'd open the idea up to the community and see what we can come up with!

Also i plan to build this for around $100 So no jtms;)

Well Boza looks like you beat me to it! It looks solid, how does it perform?

I agree, the deck played by Todd Stevens is your best bet for Ashiok.

Well, I really like the eldrazi package and ashiok, quite a good combo, but the deck can suffer - you have few sources of card advantage and draw, mitigated by your options being more powerful and you are quite prone to drawing the wrong answer at the wrong time. But I like the deck, it does decently at my more casual modern FNMs. But there is one thing for sure - Delay is a beast with processors.

here is what ilguale is talking about:

Thanks y'all, I'll probably put a list together and test it out. It's always bitter sweet to see that an idea has been done because i know that it's viable but I miss out on all of the fun of brewing!
