The deck :Improved lantern?. What I did to improve on it was to add cards like Second Sight and Dimir Charm. basically I thought the deck was not consistent enough about getting early info about the top card of the enemy deck. That is the area I aimed to improve and want more thoughts on how to improve this and other aspects of the deck.

Second sight is pretty slow to help you "...getting early info about the top card..."

Also, isochron scepter with only 5 imprintable cards is basically useless.

Suggestions then for another top deck info source earlier than turn 3 that that wrecks draws for more than 1 turn? Current lantern wins GP ,but that is there only top deck info and the deck often crumbles if no lantern is in hand or drawn. Drawing that turn 3 or having t turn is a god send and if you have an opal you can entwine to help find your needed parts and also noxious it to use it again.

Ever fought lantern? The games run forever I consistently have isochron running in a match that is easily 30+ turns.

Games vs lantern go forever, ya, but holding onto a dead card(scepter) until turn 15 when you can play it is still bad. And if you have survived u til super late game without it, then you probably dont need it. Its a win-more card, and one that could be replaced with another win-con that doesnt require another card in hand to work. I love isochron, dont get me wrong, its one of my fav cards and I run a Scepter/Chant deck in Legacy, but in lantern, with no support, its just not the right spot for it.

Mishra's Bauble seems like a legit fit for fast topdeck checking, and although it only works once, it does cost nothing and replaces itself. Other than that your options are limited, although Dimir Machinations might be woth a test. It gives you some topdeck scouting, and can be transmuted for a bridge, which tends to help you survive until the point you draw a lantern.

Hmm true true When it does happen early which it has it is beautiful ,but more often than not i just drop it on the field sometimes with nothing on it to secure my bridge. Ussually how i get it working is just making sure it hits my grave instead of drawing it and then I just return it with academy ruins once I have my instant or I inquisition it to grave when inquisition becomes non relevant mid game. then wait for instant ,but yeah having to dump an empty isochron is very bleh. But yeah you are right It should probably hit the road I'd just like another lock down in that posistion.

Which good suggestion! Mishra's Bauble with Academy Ruins is a good soft lock I can put it on top and its draw ability will draw itself allowing me to continue drawing normally.

Dimir Machinations I have run it and I'm wishy washy about it. It is only one turn of control for 3 mana, but yeah that transmute is freakishly nice.

The reason I took it out though Is it was a decision between second sight and that. I don't want too many 3 cmcs in hand when I need to dump my hand. And second sight is just superior at controlling someone for multiple turns plus a little digging on your own end.

Yeah I'm really on the edge about that one.
