1-drop cube

Limited forum

I recently made http://tappedout.net/mtg-cube-drafts/13-08-15-1 as 180 card cube with only 1 CMC cards in it. As this is a very new exercise for me, I need some opinions on whether it is actually any good.

The problem I see is that there too few creatures, which can lead to problematic and difficult to evaluate boardstates. Any help with that specifically is very appreciated.

If suggesting a card, please also suggest a card to remove.

The Cube "+ 1"

This seems very intriguing, I like.
My first thought about the cube as a whole is how interesting the mana base could be. If literally everything is 1 cmc then you really can keep 1-2 land hands no matter what your colors are.

Less mulling is good.
More cards in your deck actually from the cube is good since you can easily run less lands.

I think this would be fun to draft, I'm not too sure how the power level is though. Either way, I like it.

Thanks for the link, will update the thread!

I really like that the 1-drop format makes it very difficult to actually build the cube and then draft it. I started out building and the first card I included was Sol Ring, followed by Exploration as obviously busted cards. Turns out, they are not, since everything costs at least 1 colored mana, it is quality of mana that is the issue, rather than quantity.

In deckbuilding, I am still not sure how many lands to include (8-10 out of 40 cards seems to be best) and the problems is lands have CMC of 0, so no fixing can be included. Wanderer's Twig is probably the only fixing available in this format.

You've also got Expedition Map on the subject of artifact ramp.

There are a ton of green enchantment color fixing options but they are all green :P

I know there are some other artifacts that you sacrifice to draw a card and add one of any color that are popular in modern tron decks if you want some other options.
