Has anyone tried to make a deck based on this? it kinda allows you to remove the key cards of combo players and whatnot o.o

Plan B- UU- instant-

put target spell you control back into your hand. If you do, you may cast target spell from your hand that has the same converted mana cost as the returned spell without paying its mana cost.

Mystic seer- 5uu- (legendary?) creature-

You play with the bottom card of your library revealed. Instead of drawing a card, you may instead put the bottom card of your library into your hand.

1U- scry 2, then reveal the top card of your library. If its a land, you may draw a card.

I see plan b as useful for when one of your spells is countered - but then why would I ever use it over a counterspell of my own. It's seems narrower but essentially does the same thing. Sure in the case of a counterspell I don't get to cast something different, I just get to still can the spell I originally wanted. What other uses are there?

The land clause on Mystic Seer makes me think it should be UG. Blue doesn't really play with lands. The bottom-draw thing is interesting though, I like it.

The first card I'm just confused why you wouldn't use something like Spell Pierce to counter the counter. The second one is really fun, but maybe a bit powerful with things like Spell Crumple in EDH.

with the first one, it really is for if your stuff gets countered, or they play something that might mess it up. Hell, its good even if you just make a mistake. Its a better counterspell, no matter what!

Unless you want to counter something that isn't another counterspell. It doesn't really solve, say... any win condition.

:3. what if it did the same thing for any player?
