Thank you! —Dec. 4, 2014

I'm sure I speak for the entire team when I say that I am incredibly honoured, humbled, and just ecstatic to be able to announce that this is currently the top "deck" on the site, and has reached 100 upvotes and 3,400 views in a matter of 4 days.

When we started typing this obviously we wanted to increase access to this incredible format whilst also teaching existing players about deck archetypes they may not have known about. This balance between appealing to the newby and the veteran was extremely hard to manage, but we pulled it off to the best of our abilities. I'm not sure any of us were even sure we'd ever get this finished, much less get this up on the website and receiving so much attention. Comments from various individuals about how this primer has helped them literally warms my heart - because it's worth remembering that this was a pretty selfless endeavor. None of us were paid, and all of us had to give up our free time to get this done (it's so far taken about 8 weeks - and we're not even finished!). Looking back to how this all started, as an idea I had on a rainy Sunday afternoon, this response is incredible.

Looking ahead obviously we have a few decks to add, and we've also had requests to write about some we've never heard of or even considered. At the moment I'm hearing a strong request for Bloom, and Balance to be done. We also are aware that perhaps 8rack and maybe even Mono Green should be discussed. Currently Tron, Storm, and Pod are being worked on, but once these are down we'll plan our next moves. We promise, as a team, to keep this updated, with new content being added on a somewhat regular basis.

I hope that this primer can become a staple of the website, and I hope it can bring some new faces, ideas, and decks into the format. We wrote this so that every last person could take part and immerse themselves in both casual and competitive modern. I'm also aware that one of my motivations was to give something back to the community here and help make TappedOut a home for the best MTG related content. With your support this has started to become a reality.

Thanks everyone for their kind words, and their upvotes.

Just trying to format and make it look pretty.

Amulet of Vigor, Birthing Pod, Hexproof Auras, Jeskai Control, Merfolk, UB Faeries, UrzaTron - These need to be completed.

Epochalyptik, yeaGO - this is the monster primer we've been working on. We have just a few decks (the above 7) left to go at this stage, so I've started formatting it up and getting it ready to be rolled out. Any ideas about what to do with this beast?

Yeah, I've been super busy lately; sorry about that Chief. I'm working on the Merfolk one, should be done soon.

I know this isn't complete yet, but it already looks great, so thank you to everyone who participated in making this

I could move this to a static page if you want. Probably more appropriate than a decklist.

The downside is you'd need special privs to edit it, and I don't just give those out.

Not yet. Still needs a little more work. One day though, maybe. This primer is the reason I was asking about forum stickies. I would one day like to see it on the modern page.... somewhere.

Epochalyptik says... #9

That's also on the list of considerations

Excellent work with the formatting of the spoilers. I think I am going to have to borrow this for my own page because the code I made originally was a mess and this one is much neater.

Anyways, this primer is looking good keep it up! :3

I can't work on this like I want... I really really hate college, so much work, so much procrastination to try to work out of. Sorry :(

How about the Restore Balance Cascade decks? Are they considered tiered, or just a novelty?

Sorry Chief, finals week has me major stressed here at college. I'm working my hardest on getting my primers done though. The mini-primer for b/w tokens is acceptable, but I feel like there are a lot of things missing. I think I can cover this in the larger primer though. Once I finish my token primer I'll start working on Bogles.

I might be able to do a little something for Boggles. I'm a little jet-lagged tonight (Flying through 2 time-zones teice in one week can do a lot on ya) but I'll be on tomorrow for a mini primer which should help you out, xzzane to keep the stress off of you as much as I can help

If someone can write a full primer on GW Hatebears, that would be greatly appreciated. Chief will edit the Hatebears section to feature your name and primer.

Sorry could someone else do the blue moon extended primer? I've done the shortened one, but I don't think I have the knowledge to do one good enough with all the side boarding tactics and matchup analysis etc. Again, really sorry.

That's ok. The priority was the short ones first.

@Epochalyptik: Our eventual goal was to post it as an article, for which I have editing privs. Then you can link on Modern page? Another solution is (and I'm just completely guessing) that you could make a subclass inside "static pages" for primers and give somebody privs to edit that.

Turning out great. This is going to be a great resource for new and experienced players alike. Also, not a big deal, but I did write the primer on Living End. Will this be made into an article at some time?
