FNM Report —July 24, 2015
Took first today at our commander FNM today in 4 player pods with a total of 12 of a possible 16 points.
Game 1 I raced Sliver overlord combo accompanied by Ezuri elfball and aniamr affinity hitting my kiki combo on turn 6 after powering though some hate plays by slivers and elves.
Game 2 I was paired with Narset Voltron, Ezuri elfball, and Melek Storm and after keeping a three land hand with Birds of Paradise and serra ascendent I was able to stave off Narset by Natural Ordering my bird into a Woodfall Primus. I was able to grind this game out on three lands with a Survival of the Fittest, Gaea's Cradle and a lot of targeted removal including saccing and flickering the Woodfall Primus to keep elfball and narset off their crucial lands and accelerants.
Game 3 I was notified that I was going to be in first no matter what happened in this game so I passed up tooth and nail entwining into my combo on turn 6 for a fun aggressive game that I lost to Kraj Counters. Other Decks in this pod was the Melek storm deck and A chainer reanimator deck.
All in all a good night for me and the deck, as more spiky decks show up I'm pleased that this list can keep up.
